SogetiRendering Templates: How to use them for Custom List Form development
A Rendering Template is an ASP.NET user control that renders what’s inside its tags.  SharePoint controls including web parts use Rendering Templates.  The out of the box List Form web parts (DispForm.aspx, EditForm.aspx, NewForm.aspx) use Rendering Templates.  In this session, I will show you what Rendering Templates are and how you can use them.  I will give a couple of demos showing how easy they are to use for branding and dive a little deeper to take on more interesting use cases like Field level security.  I will compare/contrast this approach and “other” practices of customizing list forms.

LogicaManual Adoption and Migration Made Easy
Based on a project for a large energy client and many years of working with SharePoint, project team created tools and methodology for successfully completing and saving time for future similar projects.

Project scope was to create a new SharePoint site and  analyze hundreds of documents from over 25 different sites and 4 different platforms and migrate the core documents to the new site.  Client’s current SharePoint experts were not able to provide any tools, templates or methodology for this type of project.

We completed project successfully and created tools and documentation for other similar projects to use.  Site design was very clear and easy for user to understand and navigate.  Documents were not stored in folders, but used custom meta data to provide clear and consistent organization.

BlueThread TechnologiesHow to dramatically increase SharePoint Scalability, Performance and Manageability with little effort
Storing SharePoint content (BLOBs) in the SQL database poses many issues:

    •       Improper use of SQL to store unstructured content
    •       Overuse of Tier 1 storage
    •       DR, Indexing, and Maintenance tasks fall outside of operational windows
    •       Planning, rollout, and on-going maintenance complexity as a resulting from Microsoft guidelines
    •       Inability to meet regulatory compliance requirements

All of these factors increase risk and cost to your SharePoint environment and projects.  We’ll discuss various approaches to moving Content (BLOBs) out of SQL while increasing SharePoint  performance and backup timeframes. Business benefits, cost savings, and ROI will be discussed as well as a live‐demonstration of relocating SharePoint content to Cloud platforms.
