Understanding SharePoint 2007 Disaster Recovery

Content databases, configuration databases, the “12 hive”, index files, registry keys…  There’s a lot in SharePoint that needs to be backed up in case of a disaster!  In this presentation, we will explore the various types of backup operations available in SharePoint and what is actually backed up in these operations.  We will discuss some best practices for SharePoint disaster recovery and environment configuration, as well as cover some tips and tricks for SharePoint’s built-in backup and restore tools.
 
About the presenter:
Michael Foertsch is the lead architect and software developer for the SharePoint product group at Idera.  He and his team has designed and developed Idera SharePoint Backup and the Idera SharePoint Admin Toolset.  Previously with Idera, he was the lead developer of Idera SQLsafe, a very popular high-performance backup and recovery solution for Microsoft SQL Server.
