Key Deliverables:
Assist in the management of large-scale business relevant projects for information technology through coordinating and facilitating multiple reengineering and process improvement initiatives related to the enhancement of core information systems and processes.  The Systems Development Specialist is a senior role that will provide tactical and expert advice on the design and implementation of effective administrative and business processes, to include process analysis, design, reengineering, and organizational effectiveness.  This position requires that the successful candidate to work with both development team members and internal clients in taking business projects and briefs from initial analysis phase to the final creation of  a series of global applications for CLIENT as a whole. In doing so, it will be required that:-

  • Work with management to create Systems Development Life Cycle procedures and methodologies that will be adhered to for all future efforts
  • Ensure that all development is scalable and applicable to multiple business areas where possible
  • Assist in managing small/medium/large size projects through all stages of the project lifecycle from concept through scoping, planning, execution and closeout
  • Assist in managing a staff of professional and technical employees, works closely with other Information Technology management as well as other business units to ensure project success
  • Act as key point of communication and specialization for the development team
    • Providing ongoing improvement
    • Developing, bug fixing and managing the system roll out
    • Maintaining best practice for all system development
 
Competencies
The ideal candidate will have a BS in one of the following disciplines:  Electrical Engineering, Math, or Computer Science.  They will have spent at least 5 years gaining broad experience of a number of technologies, and development methodologies through both formal and informal learning scenarios.  At least 2 years must be in direct exposure to Share Point Technologies in administration and development.  Candidate must be able to focus on time lines, deliverables and where necessary go above the brief in order to meet the overall deliverables deadline. The successful candidate will be working as part of an overall development team, but additionally the person must be able to work autonomously, be confident of making and justifying decisions, and keep team members and management aware of the overall project progression.


Knowledge/Expertise

  • Advanced knowledge of project management principles, practices, techniques, and tools
  • Expert knowledge to manage systems development process
  • Expert knowledge of the MS Share Point System and associated Share Point services and share point portal development
  • Knowledge of MS Active Directory - ADSI / LDAP
  • Expert knowledge of systems architecture, Q/A, and Systems Documentation
  • Customization of the Share Point functionalities
  • Maximization of  all potential within Share Point’s built-in tools,
  • Write SQL-based web parts (very important because all projects will eventually have to be web-enabled.)
Additional technical proficiency that will be seen as a plus:
  • Visual Basic Studio and/or C#, C++
  • Exposure to Team Visual 2005 a bonus
  • Experience in MS Office Programming
  • Perl, Java script
  • DHTML, XML, SOAP, ADO, JAVA
  • AJAX
  • MS IIS and SQL Database Integration
