The speaker for our August meeting will be Wes Bryan, Product Management Lead at Bamboo Solutions. His presentation is titled: "SharePoint Alerts".
This presentation covers both the capabilities of SharePoint Alerts and includes a “how-to” guide for customizing alerts. It will take a look at current limitations that both users and administrators face, and include a discussion on the evolution of the alerting capabilities in the prior release of SharePoint to WSS 3.0 and MOSS 2007. The “how-to” portion of the presentation will focus on how to customize alert messages and create new custom alert triggers. These triggers will enable administrators to add alerting capabilities to their SharePoint environments that are not possible with out of the box SharePoint.
Wes Bryan leads the Product Management team at Bamboo Solutions, a provider of web parts and products for Microsoft SharePoint. He has been with Bamboo for over 8 years and has a decade of experience developing enterprise commercial software products. Wes has published numerous technical articles related to SharePoint technologies and has spoken at SharePoint user groups across the country. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia where he studied both economics and computer science.
